Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers about dry needling physical therapy in Bristol, TN

  • Cupping therapy is a technique where plastic or silicone cups are placed on the skin to create a vacuum effect. This suction pulls blood flow to the area, releases fascial restrictions, reduces inflammation, and helps remove metabolic waste from tissues. At Sparked Rehab, we integrate cupping with other evidence-based treatments like dry needling and therapeutic exercise for comprehensive care that addresses the root cause of your pain—not just the symptoms.

  • Cupping typically doesn't hurt, though you'll feel a pulling sensation on your skin during treatment. Most athletes find it relaxing and report immediate relief in muscle tightness. The circular marks left by cupping are not bruises—they're a result of increased blood flow to the area and typically fade within 3-7 days. Dr. Sparks adjusts the intensity based on your comfort level and treatment goals.

  • The number of sessions varies based on your specific condition and goals. Some athletes experience significant relief after just one session, while chronic issues may require 4-6 sessions combined with other treatments. During your initial evaluation, Dr. Sparks will create a personalized treatment plan and give you a realistic timeline. Unlike traditional PT clinics, we focus on getting you lasting results—not keeping you in treatment indefinitely.

  • No referral needed! Tennessee allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can start your recovery journey immediately without waiting for a doctor's appointment. Simply schedule a free phone consultation or book your first session online, and we'll verify your insurance benefits before your visit.
